Introducing Our New Massage Services

Scar tissue massage

Is a common method used in which it helps remodel the scar tissue that has developed in injured tissue. The body doesn’t know how to properly arrange collagen cells after surgery/injury and makes them clump together and lose their natural structure. So massaging breaks them down and helps align the collagen fibers. I’ve been doing this for a few years now and I’ve gotten great results for the clients who’ve done it. I recommend to come at least once a week for this type of treatment as well as combining it with hot stones massage. Gua Sha is also the perfect add on as it also helps align collagen so it’ll be twice as effective!

Gua Sha or Facial Gua Sha

A great add on to ones massage, is gua sha or facial gua sha. Gua Sha in general is a traditional Chinese technique that is pretty much skin scraping. When not applied to the face, it can get quite intense as the pressure is much lighter when the technique is applied to the face. Facial gua sha is much more gentle as the tissue on the face is much thinner. The benefits of gua sha varies on where it’s applied  however, it overall helps with blood circulation and relaxation of muscles and well as relieving pain. When applied on the face it improves fine lines and wrinkles as well as reducing puffiness and inflammation. It can even help relieve sinus pressure. I highly recommend facial gua sha for a more relaxing end to ones massage.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu translates to "finger acupressure" and is based off the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in which views health problems and illness as the imbalance of the Qi (pronounced "chi") life force energy. This technique focuses on the meridians in which the way one's Qi flows. Joints and fascia are released with this technique and you’ll feel more energized! It's highly recommended to combine this modality with trigger point therapy as they truly go hand in hand. Shiatsu is done with no oil/lotions needed and undressing is optional.. Very similar to thai massage, shiatsu is done on the ground or on a massage table is at is lowest point on the ground. Shiatsu can also get quite intense, so we recommend booking a 90 minute massage to allow a slow progression through areas of work, especially when combined with trigger point. As with all massages, it is vital to drink plenty of water afterwards & to take it easy for the rest of the day.
